Commercial Flights

Commercial flights into Winnipeg allow for 1 day of travel. If you are flying into Eagle Nest the best flights arrive in Winnipeg at 2:30pm. Boating in requires a little extra time. Flights arriving at 1pm are ideal. Departures in the afternoon work best but we can accommodate any itinerary that fits your needs. Go for the most convenient flight or call us if you are having difficulty.

Guests flying into Eagle Nest will be scheduled to depart Lac du Bonnet at 4:30pm. If you choose to boat in, departures out of Pointe du Bois are scheduled for 4:00pm. Please arrive 30 minutes early to allow enough time for loading all gear.

Direct flights from the Winnipeg Airport to Eagle Nest via Adventure Air can also be arranged.

Flying your own Airplane

For those flying their own airplane, Lac du Bonnet has a hard topped airstrip with over 3600' of runway. If you fly your own plane enjoy the convenience of landing within walking distance of the float plane base. From there you will travel a short 20 minutes by seaplane to our resort. Driving from the USA

When driving in from the US, a majority of our guests will stay overnight in Fargo, Grand Forks or Winnipeg. This makes it an easy drive to our float plane or boat-in base. We have a special rate arranged at the Guesthouse, in Grand Forks (1-701-746-5411). Cabela's is only about 6 blocks away and you may find all kinds of things you didn't know you needed. If you are interested in spending time in Winnipeg, we have a reduced rate at the Radisson Hotel (1-204-956-0410) which is one of the finest downtown hotels. We can also make arrangements for you at the Lakeview Hotel in Lac du Bonnet (1-204-345-8661), which is a short 5-minute drive to our float base or 30 minutes to where we will take you up by boat.

Your vehicle is parked on site and will be securely taken care of.

We are OPENING for the 2020 Fishing Season. RELAX, UNWIND, FISH. The kind of vacation everyone needs as we navigate through these difficult times.

I would like to send quick note out to our guests and staff of 2020. As we all know, COVID -19 has affected our day to day lives. Better times are ahead for us all. While the world remains uncertain, it our intention to open Eagle Nest Lodge as scheduled, and be ready to welcome another fishing season.

Since November, I have been working diligently to prepare for the 2020 season. New boats and supplies have been ordered, jobs are prioritized, employees are in place and I have reached out to past, current and potential guests regarding a fishing trip.

In 2020, along with the scheduled camp upgrades, Eagle Nest will be reviewing its' health and safety protocols to ensure we are current and doing the upmost for guest and employee wellbeing. It is a priority that our guests remain happy and comfortable while enjoying "time away" in an untouched, peaceful, safe, remote environment.

As of today, the CAN/US border is closed but we are optimistic about its' reopening. We want guests to know that their trip will not be lost if travel restrictions remain in place. Should timelines be a concern, scheduling dates later in the season is a welcomed option. Full deposits will be carried forward to use on 2021 trip if traveling to Canada is not possible. Our world is changing everyday. One thing that remains the same is the unrivaled experience we offer at Eagle Nest. More then ever, I look forward to the upcoming season to reconnect in place we go to forget about the "real world" so that we can relax, fish and unwind. There is no better destination that gets you "off the grid".
